Today, 9th of April, took place a meeting between the General Director of RoAid, Cătălin Harnagea, with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Bucharest, H.E. Manuel Larrotcha, that aimed to prospect the possibilities of collaboration between Romania and Spain in projects of international development cooperation in Latin America and Africa.
Spain has an Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) since 1988 and nowadays it has technical offices in numerous Latin American and African countries. In these countries, AECID develops projects addressing various social, economic and environmental needs, from water and sewage infrastructure, social services, education, gender equality, sustainable cities, renewable energy, to the provision of humanitarian assistance in case of natural or armed disasters. The #RoAid representative presented the projects that the Romanian Agency will implement this year in Mexico, in combating drug trafficking and organised crime, and in Colombia, in the field of cadastre and land registry.
As the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador of Spain sent an invitation to RoAid officials to pay a visit to the AECID headquarters in Madrid, to learn more about their projects and to establish contacts for future collaborations.
