Projects financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Georgia:


In 2015, the MFA financed projects for supporting civil society, sustainable economic development and peace and security:

  • Raising Awareness on the Europeanization process in Georgia (implemented by the Romanian Centre for European Policies) – RON 182,880.
  • Socio-economic empowerment of conflict affected, displaced persons through durable livelihood activities (implemented by the International Organization for Migration) - 182,880 RON 

  • Participation of MFA experts to EUMM Georgia - 25,999.78 RON


In 2014 the MFA's ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to approx. 80,000 EUR, and was used as follows:

In 2014, Georgia benefited from the regional project "Piloting a child protection index", a project financed from the MFA budget (approx. EUR 32,000) and implemented in Georgia and the Republic of Moldova. 


In 2012 the MFA's ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to 121,270.69 EUR and was used as follows:

  • 160,000 USD (121,270.69 EUR) for the rehabilitation of the Inguri Bridge under the project “Human Security and Social Integration in Georgia”. The project was funded through UNDP Tbilisi.

In 2011 the MFA’s ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to 259,776 EUR and was used as follows:

  • 229,776 EUR (300,000 USD) for the consolidation of trust and post-conflict reconstruction in Abhazia (financed through UNDP);
  • 30,000 EUR to organize the first edition of the European Cooperation Initiative dedicated to civil society representatives from Romania andGeorgia (implemented by UNDP).

In 2010 the MFA’s ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to 300,000 EUR and was used as follows:

  • 300,000 EUR for the implementation by the UNDP Georgia of the program ‘Support protection and Promotion of Human Rights for Persons with Disabilities and Establishment of Enabling Environment for Provision of Better Services in Georgia’.

In 2009 the MFA’s ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to 443,145 EUR and was used as follows:

  • 300,000 EUR for assisting the socio-economic integration  of internally displaced persons (IDPs), implemented by UNHCR Tbilisi;
  • 93,145 EUR for the project on ‘Evaluation of commercial  competitiveness and export potential and the implementation of a  developing program for Georgia’; the project was implemented in cooperation with the International Trade Centre (ITC Geneva);
  • 50,000 EUR as contribution to UNHCR’s annual general budget forGeorgia.

In 2008 the MFA’s ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to 159,999 EUR and was used as follows:

  • 150,000 EUR (100,000 EUR through UNHCR and 50,000 Euro through WFP) for emergency assistance through World  Food Program (WFP) and UNHCR;
  • 6,840 EUR (10,000 USD) for the modernization of one of the amphitheaters of “Ivane Javakhishvili” Tbilisi State University;
  • 3,150 EUR for funding Georgia's participation in the Hague Conference on Private International Law - Special committee  for the conventions regarding the signature, the obtaining of the evidences, reporting and access to justice.

In 2007 the MFA’s ODA assistance to Georgia amounted to 692,000 EUR and was used as follows:

  • 192,000 EUR (250,000 USD) reassigned in 2009 from the SNIECODA project’s budget (which was financed in 2007), and transferred to UNDP Georgia, in order  to implement a cooperation program between the two countries’ civil society representatives in the field of human rights;
  • 150,000 EUR ‘Regional Development in the Kakheti region’;
  • 150,000 EUR ‘Economic Development in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara’;
  • 100,000 EUR Contribution to the UN  Refugee Agency (UNHCR) – Program for refugees and displaced persons in Georgia;
  • 100,000 EUR contributions to the UN World Food Program (WFP) – Operation for Georgia.
