This year the Romanian Agency for International Development Cooperation- RoAid is seeking to grant funds to the Romanian companies that interested in implementing projects in developing countries, in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
This year, RoAid will launch a Call for proposals in order to award project grants with total amount of 130.000 Euro, in order to respond to the economic, social and environmental challenges that are currently being faced by the partner developing countries and to sustain the collaboration between the Romanian private sector and local partners, both from the public sector and the private one.
Furthermore RoAid planns to continue to finance the projects started in 2018 in Egypt, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Georgia, Sudan and Congo, for which the Agency allocated funds, having a total amount of 500.000 euro.
At the same time it has been planned to also finance the projects declared eligible in 2018 as long as RoAid`s criteria for eligibility and mantained and proved. These projects will be implemented by the private sector in Belarus, Uganda, Chad, Ivory Coast, Mozambique and Republic of Moldova and will be financed with a total amount of 400.000 Euro.
According to the Annual Plan for 2019 in the field international development cooperation and humanitarian assistance, the total amount granted by RoAid to the private sector in 2019 will be 1.030.000 Euro.

The private sector plays an essential role in the international development. It offers employment opportunities to local people, facilitates the expertise transfer and in the same time contributes to the improvement of the business environment in the partner countries. The development cooperation policy also represents an opportunity for the Romanian private sector, since it offers the Romanian enterprises the chance to extend on new markets with projects with social impact.
